The absolute best steak ever

Yeah that is right! Friday my sensational girlfriend and I went for cocktails at Co.fi at the Centurion Mall. I had some or other strawberry pina con lada with cream, and she had some Turkish Martini's (an old favorite of hers!).

After a while we felt ourselves getting hungry, and we decided to order. My eyes were somehow glued to the Cofi Fillet, which was a fillet with bacon, mushrooms and parmisan cheese, with extra melted mozzarella cheese over the whole thing. Damn it was simply nothing short of brilliant!!! It was clearly the best steak I have EVER EVER had! EVER!!!

My girlfriend also raved about it, this is from now on where I go to have steak! Anyway, she had some oven baked chicken with cheese and avo's, and I also had a taste - it was very very nice too, but my steak ruled!!!

Go eat the Cofi Fillet at the Centurion Mall as if your life depended on it!!

Our bill was ZAR 280 which included the tip (that is 39.20 US Dollars, 29 Euros and 19.75 British Pound) Quite steep but totally totally worth it!

Till I blog again!

Uncle turning 60!!!

Yesterday my girlfriends uncle had his 60th birthday, and we all (thats now me, my girlfriend, her parents and her uncle and aunt) went to eat out at Mandolins, which is a very fancy restaurant in Johannesburg somewhere at a guest house.

The whole experience was very pleasant, and my girlfriend and I are going to go there more often, as they have very nice couches where we can sit and read ;)

Anyway, the waiter read the specials and things like Veal chops, calamari pasta and the like were mentioned. The calamari dish attracted my attention and I decided to have that, but I had a starter first, thinly sliced beef with slices of cheese, and vinegar.

The rest of the peoples dishes looked exquisite as well, but I won't mention it here because, quite frankly, I don't remember the fancy names some of the dishes have. I just know that my girlfriends mother had some or other roast lamb (I had a taste, AMAZING!). Her father had fish (don't know what fish, just know that it was fish) and her uncle had a T-Bone steak, which looked very tasty. Her aunt had the Veal chops which she enjoyed thoroughly!

Fortunately, my girlfriends uncle and aunt got the bill, so unfortunately I do not know what the whole outing cost us, but I would definitely recommend anyone to go there if you want a very fancy, classy restaurant! Yeah!

Dopio 00 after day at the Zoo

We went to the Johannesburg Zoo on Sunday, and I'm not in the mood to go into details about it...

Afterwards, we were quite famished and decided to look for a place to eat. Well, we decided against hot dogs at the zoo, so we were on the lookout for a decent restaurant, which made us end up at the Dopio Zero at the Rosebank Mall.

We got their (thats now me, my girlfriend and her mother) and ordered drinks. They both had Cola Tonic and Lemonade, and I, regrettably, ordered a chocolate milkshake. It wasn't nice, and when I was about halfway through it, I sent it back, and didn't have the strength to complain at that stage...

To eat my girlfriend and her mother had health sandwiches and I ordered Lasagna. They were quite happy with what they had, and my lasagna wasn't too bad either. It was actually quite good!

The whole experience there wasn't as well as I would have hoped for, but we left happy customers (well, at least my girlfriend and her mother were 100% happy).

Our bill was ZAR 170 (23.55 US Dollars, 17.60 Euros and just below 12 British Pound). This, as usual, included a tip...

Anyway, happy eating out!
